Mr. Albert Joseph LeBrun's Obituary
Albert LeBrun of Lake Worth, Florida, beloved husband of Ann Henneberry LeBrun, died on February 6, 2015, three weeks before his 91st birthday. Born in Penacook, New Hampshire on March 2, 1924, he was the son of Phillip LeBrun and Mederise Brodeur LeBrun. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific theatre in the Solomon Islands at the Battle of Guadalcanal. On September 1, 1947, he married Ann Henneberry, his wife of 67 years. He is survived by four children: Stephen LeBrun of San Diego, California; Joanne (Barry) Donaghue of Windsor, Connecticut; Mary (Gregory) Burkhardt of Downers Grove, Illinois; and Thomas (Kathleen) LeBrun of Hartford, Connecticut. He was predeceased by his son and namesake, Albert LeBrun, Jr., (known as Chip), of Hartford, Connecticut. He also leaves three grandchildren: Erin Donaghue of Brooklyn, New York; and Hannah and Emma Burkhardt of Downers Grove, Illinois. He is survived by a brother, Raymond (Carol) LeBrun of Summerfield, Florida; his only sister, Rose (George) Sawtelle of Epsom, New Hampshire; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers: Phillippe (known as Buster), Mitchell and Felix LeBrun, all of New Hampshire. In the mid-1950s, the family moved to Connecticut, where Al worked with H. P. Hood & Company and later owned Hartford Cleaners. Albert and Ann retired to Florida in 1989 and lived in the West Palm Beach area. Al will be remembered for his sense of fun, his zest for life, his devotion to his wife, his storytelling and card playing, and waiting up at the kitchen table for his kids to come home. Services will be private. If they choose, friends may make a donation in Al’s memory to Visiting Nurse Association Healthcare, 999 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, Connecticut 06105, in recognition of their tender care of their son Chip.
