Alice Parker Campbell's Obituary
Alice Parker Campbell age 94 of Greenacres, Florida, formerly of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2014. Alice was born in Gadsden, Alabama on April 4, 1920, to the late Mr. Obediah Parker and the late Mrs. Susie (nee Snyder) Parker. During the World War II era, Alice worked in the Artillery Shell Industry filling bomb shell casings with black gunpowder to assist in the war effort. She moved to the Palm Beach County area in 1959 with her family and settled in the Lake Worth area. Alice worked in the Retail Clothing Industry for many years before retirement. Alice was an excellent cook and her homemade "Chicken and Dumplings" were legendary; her church family could always depend on her making them a pot of these delectable delights if someone was ill or in need of some nurishment to feel better. She loved spending quality time with her family and friends on all the major holidays and special occasions. Alice will be forever remembered and honored by her three loved children, Martin E. "Gene" Campbell and his wife, Carmen, Alice Faye Campbell and Kenneth Campbell; and her five adored grandchildren, Carmen Marie Campbell Bumgardner, Donald Campbell, Daniel Campbell, Scott Campbell and Sarah Alice Campbell Turner. Family and friends will gather and pay respects from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Monday, October 20, 2014 at Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 586-1237. A Celebration of Life Service to Honor the Memory of Alice Parker Campbell will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, October 20, 2014 at Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462 with Pastor Charlie Westbrook of the First Baptist Church of Lake Worth officiating. Interment will follow in Palm Beach Memorial Park Cemetery, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 585-6444.
