Alice Latham's Obituary
Alice Anita Hurdle Latham was born on April 21, 1930 at Maysville Kentucky the oldest Mary Bee Hurdle and Ray Hurdle. Alice passed away September 9, 2017. The family moved to Bethel, Ohio where Alice lived, and married Harry Latham, July 30, 1948. The couple were living in Bethel, when they decided to relocate to a warmer climate, and eventually settled in Palm Beach County, where Harry retired after 30 years at Pratt Whitney Aircraft. Three children were born to Harry and Alice. Gloria Latham Buford, Georgia, Larry Latham West Palm Beach, Florida and Kevin Latham West Palm Beach, Florida two Grand Daughters, Jessica Lewis (Kevin Lewis) and daughter Adelaide Lewis and Jennifer Hanson (Josh Hanson) and daughter Brinley Hanson. Harry passed away September 2015 after 66 years of marriage. Parents, aunts and uncles and several cousin have also preceded Alice in death, But sister Hilda Hensley of Coulumbus, OH and brother Glen Hurdle of Loudonville are still living. Alice was a home keeper throughout her life, working in offices from time to time. She felt she really didn't have a career like others did. However her goal and interest was to be a "Mary/Martha...serving but also listening" She was always involved in church work, and since moving to Sebring, she has been a volunteer with Little Lambs prison ministry...sending out hundreds of Bible lessons monthly, all over the nation. Alice graded lessons and worked in the local office. As her health declined, she had to cut down on this, as well as other volunteer work. She was missed by coworkers. Her ready-smile was missed by so many, as she was not able to get out as much to Church and other places and activities. Alice's heart was also in her Gospel music. She kept her radio on a Christian Station, playing the "old Hymn's"... These she played before church services, as her health permitted. Alice's life was her testimony. She loved the lord, his work, his music, and his people. "When he calls, I will answer, I'll be somewhere listening for my name". As we bid a fond farewell to Alice, we will look forward to meeting again.
