Mrs. Barbara Pearl Lindstrom's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara Pearl Lindstrom age 83 of Lantana, Florida passed away peacefully on July 6, 2015 with her son and daughter-in-law by her bedside. Barbara was born in Rochester, New Hampshire on January 5, 1932 to her parents, Mr. Eugene Henry Seavey and Mrs. Gladys (nee Groleau) Seavey. Her father passed away when she was only eight years old, and she and her mother moved to Worcester, Massachusetts shortly afterwards where her mother met and married Barbara’s beloved stepfather Harry Bullens. One of her favorite memories of her father and continuing with her new Dad was going to Hampton Beach, especially on Memorial Day. Barbara graduated from Classical High School and continued with her studies at Becker Junior College in Worcester, MA. It was at Classical where she met her future husband, George. They married in 1952 and moved to Millbury, MA in 1958. In later years she worked at the Fair Department Store in Worcester as a cashier, bookkeeper, and customer service manager, and then for many years in the Paper Industry as a bookkeeper and sales assistant. Mrs. Lindstrom was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star beginning with her initiation in ADAH Chapter #15 in Millbury, where she held many offices to include Worthy Matron, and then continuing her OES membership with STELLA Chapter #3 in Auburn, MA. Barbara and her husband moved to the South Florida area in 1991, but still continued to spend time at their log cabin summer residence in Charlton, MA for many more years. Barbara loved to walk the Beach and collect Sea Glass and she loved playing games on her home computer. One of her most enjoyable past times was staying in contact with her pen pals around the world. She was an avid knitter and also enjoyed arts and crafts projects in her spare time. For many years she was a volunteer at the voting polls. Barbara had a fond love for animals and adopted four retired Greyhounds as pets from Lincoln, RI and the Palm Beach Kennel Club as sponsored by the Greyhounds Pets of America Program. She was a friendly and gregarious person who loved to socialize and visit with people that she met while out on her daily walks with her greyhounds. Barbara also loved the outdoors - be it ice skating with her own children and then her grandchildren to camping throughout New England and on a driving vacation through Canada to Alaska and back through many of the northern states. She will be forever loved and honored by her devoted husband of sixty three years, Mr. George W. Lindstrom, Jr.; her loved children, Kenneth Lindstrom and wife, Debbie Lindstrom and Susan Siegel and husband, Roy Siegel; her three treasured grandchildren, Kevin Siegel, Curtis Sadowski and Samantha Baj; her two adored great grandchildren, Shane Siegel and Ryan Siegel; and her two favorite aunts, Arlene Peterson and Shirley Mossa. A Graveside Inurnment will take place Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 11:00am at Palm Beach Memorial Park Cemetery, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 585-6444.
