Barbara A. Sterner's Obituary
Barbara Ann Sterner, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 24, 2015 at The Pavilion, Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida.
Born in Bayonne, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Grace and John McCarroll. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl V. Sterner, brother John McCarroll and nephew Jack McCarroll. She is survived by her son, Carl Jerry Sterner of Jupiter, Fl. Also surviving is her sister Grace Matthaei of Jupiter, FL, niece Lynn Filipsky of Cape May, NJ and nephews James McCarroll, Michael McCarroll, Scott McCarroll, Richard Matthaei and William Matthaei of Palm Beach County, FL. Also, sister-in-law Doris Kendall, niece Karen Guers, Reading, PA. and niece Janet Heim, Shohola, PA.
As a young girl Barbara was raised in Roselle, NJ and was a graduate of Abraham Clark High School. She was a secretary at Carpenter Steel in Union, NJ and Childhood Interest, Inc., Rosselle, NJ. In 1981 the family moved from Edison, NJ to Jupiter, FL.
Barbara enjoyed many family vacations to England, Scotland, Wales, France, Switzerland, Italy and Australia where special memories were made and will always be cherished by devoted son, Jerry.
Barbara was a communicant of St. Jude Catholic Church, Tequesta, FL. For 24 years. A private service for the family will be held on Sunday, March 1, at 12:00 noon at Palm Beach Memorial Park, Lantana, FL and a memorial mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, Tequesta, FL at a future time.
