Mr. Carmelo Arzuaga Algarin's Obituary
Mr. Carmelo Arzuaga Algarin age 96 of Lake Worth, Florida went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2014. Carmelo was born on January 19, 1918 in Yuncos, Puerto Rico to his late father, Juan Arzuaga Cuevas and his late mother, Restituta Arzuaga Massa. Carmelo moved to the United Staes from his hometown in Puerto Rico due to his job as an FBI Field Agent for seventeen years and in 1971 he met the love of his life, Maria Rosa (nee Batista) Arzuaga and three years later married her in 1974. Carmelo served his country valiantly during the World War II Era as a Sergeant and was awarded the American Theater Service Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and 5 Overseas Service Bars. He was a Master Mason of the Sublime Degree. Carmelo loved to watch Baseball and cheer on his two favorite teams the New York Mets and the Florida Marlins. He also loved to read books; most especially the Holy Bible, or a good Magazine or the local Newspaper always trying to stay infomed or in search of knowledge. He also loved to listen to music and cook up some gourmet dish for his family and friends; better know as the "Chef of the Kitchen". Carmelo loved children and animals; he was a strict disciplinarian with children and animals firm but gentle in his teaching them the ways. He was very punctual always on time to any event and a quiet spoken person, mellow and laid back in his ways always seeking perfection in what ever he endeavored to do. Carmelo will be forever honored and loved by his loving and devoted wife of forty four years, Maria Rosa Arzuaga; his three loved children, Barbara Gonzales, Leonardo Carbo and Jose Ramon Arzuaga; his admired brother, Jose Ramon Arzuaga; and his nine adored grandchildren and nine treasured great grandchildren. Family and friends will gather and pay respects on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 586-1237 with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 6:00 PM on Wednesday in the Chapel of Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Eddy Dominguez the officiant. Military Honors and Burial Rites will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 10:45 AM at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida 33449, (561) 649-6489 with the United States Army presenting Military Honors to the Family of Mr. Carmelo Arzuaga Algarin.
