Clara Marino's Obituary
Clara Marino of Lake Worth, FL, our beautiful, funny, creative, stylish, fiercely protective,
and loving mom and grandma unexpectedly floated away to Heaven on September 16,
2024. Born in New Haven, CT, on July 1, 1927, she made her home in Akron, OH, when
she married her husband, Joseph Marino, Sr., in 1946. They raised a large Italian family
of seven children surrounded in a boisterous and well-kept home of music, movies,
learning, playing outside, reading, joyful holidays, and nice clothes. Predeceased by
Joseph, Sr., in 1977 after 31 years of marriage, she moved her younger children to Florida
shortly thereafter where she resided until her death.
Clara is survived by her adoring children Joseph Marino, Jr., Michael S. Marino, Louis
Marino, Sandra Marino, Maria Marino-Bollan, Barbara Allen, Robert Marino, and her
beloved granddaughter Tessa Allen. She was predeceased by her beloved grandson
Michael J. Marino and his loving mom, daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Marino; her mother and
father Clementina and Michele Bifulco; five beautiful sisters: Theresa Copeland, Elizabeth
Redding, Anne Civitello, Julia Attruia, and Florence Oakes; and two brothers: Michael
Vinglione and Louis Bifulco. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews in
Connecticut, Ohio, and California and by special family-friend Raymond Herdina who
never missed singing Happy Birthday to her over the phone each year from Ohio.
Thank you to family members who stood by to comfort her daughters while on her journey:
Walter Dean (Sandra), Brian Bollan and Rita Taylor (Maria), and Shon Hinkle (Barbara
and Tessa).
A woman of steadfast faith, she left her earthly shell wrapped in the protective arms of
her family and prayer so her spirit could soar into the welcoming arms of the angels and
the Lord. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. She graciously reached
97 years young this year, but no matter how much time we had with her, it wasn’t enough.
Services have yet to be determined; however, in lieu of flowers, the family requests
donations be made in her memory to any of the following: St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital, The American Heart Association, The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, The
National Breast Cancer Foundation,Trustbridge Hospice Care of West Palm Beach, FL,
or a charity of your choice.
