Clara Woodbury passed away on Aug 27, 2013 at the age of 102, and with the grace of Our Lord Jesus is now with the many friends and relatives that she loved so dearly. Clara was born on March 30, 1911 in N.Y.C., New York, one of eight chidren and the daughter of Francesco and Vicenza Ajosa. Clara went to Primary and High School in N.Y.C. and completed a B.A in the Arts at Cooper Union, receiving her degree from J. P. Morgan. She was married to Wallace A. In the 50's and 60's she taught Adult School classes out of her homes in Baldwin and Massapequa. She taught Party Planning including Chinese food, Italian cooking and low calorie cooking, to the enthusiastic approval of all. She used all these skills to organize wedding receptions for her children. She was active in the Mercy Hospital League, Plaza Grammar School PTA as Hospitality Chairman, and as a contributor to the gift shop for the Good Samaritan Hospital Guild; Clara planed and hosted events for all of them. Wallace A. and Clara moved to Florida in 1968 and lived in Margate. They moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1972 where she was active in the recreation center, organizing frequent social events, including a wedding for one of her sons. Clara and Wallace moved to Delray Beach in 1975 where she stayed until 2012. While in Delray, Clara was an active member of the Woman's Club of Delray Beach, again planning festive events to enhance the lives of those in the community. She enjoyed singing with the “Sweet Caroline's”, and she loved the Poor Claire Nuns, actively helping them.
