Daniel Lesser's Obituary
Daniel Lesser, age 83 of Lake Worth, FL died on November 13, 2010. Daniel's memory will be cherished by his beloved wife of 40 years, Marjorie; devoted children, Craig (Renee) and Jason; loving granddaughter, Ava Briana and adoring nieces and nephews, Randi, Michael, Jeffrey, Logan, Lara, Samantha and Lauren.After graduating from Spring Valley High School in Rockland County, New York, Dan entered the United States Army and served in France during World War II. A graduate of Pratt Institute, Dan continued his education at Syracuse University earning a Doctorate in Education. He went on to become a life long educator, spending 25 years as a Professor of Education at New York University and following his family's relocation to South Florida in 1983, began a second career with the Palm Beach County School District as a Media Specialist at South Tech High School where he remained until his retirement in 2003. Not on to be idle, Dan went on to log in several thousand volunteer hours at the Veterans Administration Hospital and JFK Medical Center. An active member of Temple Judea of Palm Beach Gardens, Dan was also a 55 year member of the Athelstane Lodge No. 839, F&A.M. Dan will alway be remembered for his kind and gentle manner and will be sorely missed by all that knew him.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the South Florida National Cemetery Located on State Road 7, south of Lantana Road at 10:30 AM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County or Temple Judea of Palm Beach Gardens.
