Dee Diane Walters' Obituary
Dee Diane Walters, age 55 of Lake Worth, Florida passed away into eternal life on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 12, she had kidney and pancreas transplant surgery in May 2016 and enjoyed several months of improved health before developing serious transplant complications. Her husband, Antonio was constantly by her side through her lengthy hospitalization.
Dee was born to Larry and Evangeline (Rokala) Walters on July 18, 1961 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She graduated with honors from Anoka High School in 1979. She continued her studies and graduated from St. Catherine University with a degree in nursing in 1983. Having developed an interest in missions through Campus Crusade for Christ she traveled to Guatemala where she met the love of her life, Angel Antonio Salguero Hernandez. Dee and Antonio married August 29, 1987 in Plymouth, Minnesota and settled in Lake Worth, Florida. In 1993, they were blessed with a son, Joshua Antonio.
Surviving our dear Dee is her beloved husband, Antonio; her son, Joshua Antonio Salguero, her parents, Larry and Evangline (Rokola of Brooklyn Park, MN; brothers, Lloyd (Marlene) Walters of Buffalo, MN and Noel (Kristine) Walters of Brooklyn Park; sister, Cindy (Michael) Simula of Champion, MI; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dee was the most cherished and loved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend that anyone could ever hope to know. Dee was caring and compassionate and always saw the good in others. We will always love you Dee, with all of our hearts. Until we see you again in Heaven’s glory, may God be with you.
