Dennis John Howell's Obituary
Dennis John Howell, 75, of Lake Worth, FL, passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2023. He was born on April 28, 1948 in McKeesport, PA. Dennis was a devout Catholic and worshiped at St. Matthew's Catholic Church.
Dennis proudly served our country for 9 years in the US Air Force, arriving in Thailand alongside his best friend and brother, Rick Howell. He served in various locations including Thailand, Africa, and Europe. During his time in England, he met the love of his life, Eng Howell, whom he brought home to WPB to be close to family. They resided there for the last 50 years.
Dennis was a lifelong learner and teacher. He volunteered at the Palm Beach VA center, teaching veterans computer skills. He was also an excellent chef, earning multiple awards and winning numerous cooking competitions. Dennis enjoyed teaching cooking classes, bowling, scuba diving, and motorcycles. He had a passion for playing pool with his friends at the Palm Beach ACS League.
Above all, Dennis cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, and Pappa. He took great pride in his grandchildren and they brought him the most joy. Dennis never hesitated to show his love and appreciation to his friends and family.
Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Eng Howell, and his children Monica (Aaron) Fields of Fort Myers, FL, and Chris Howell of Marietta, GA. He is also survived by his sister Kathleen (Sam) Boscarino of Greensburg, PA, sister-in-law Mary Ann Howell of WBP, FL, and his nieces and nephews Heather Pawelkiewicz, Danny Howell, Gina Boscarin and lots of cousins that were like siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents Al and Isabel Howell, brother Rick Howell, and niece Amy Boscarino.
Dennis attended Saint Pius V for his primary education and graduated from McKeesport High School.
The viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 5-7 PM at Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home, located at 3691 N. Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, FL 33463.
Mass will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 10 AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church, located at 6090 Hypoluxo Rd, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33463. Interment will immediately follow the mass at Palm Beach Memorial Cemetery, also located at 3691 N. Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, FL 33463. A reception will be held immediately following at 111 Auburn Drive, Lake Worth, FL 33460.
Dennis will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to his country, and his love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
