Donald Leon Carmichiel's Obituary
Don, or “Donnie” as his family always called him, was born May 23, 1952 at St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach. After a brief battle with cancer, he left this world to live eternally with the Lord on May 30, 2023. Don is survived by his mother, Evelyn Carmichiel of Arlington, Texas; his sister Brenda Caldwell (Dan) of Arlington, Texas and his sister Virginia Matthews (Glenn) of Florence, South Carolina, as well as many extended family members. He is pre-deceased by his father, Sherman Carmichiel and brother, Jimmy Carmichiel.
Donnie loved his family and friends, fiercely loyal - always offering encouraging words and prayers. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lantana for many years
Donnie had a wonderful sense of humor – he loved to laugh and loved making others laugh. He was an experienced cabinet maker and worked for many years at Lawson Industries before retiring several years ago. Lawson's is also where he met his very dear friend and roommate, Mary Duda. Donnie loved dogs, his most recent fur baby was “Hurricane” Hallie, a rambunctious yellow lab who has an appetite for all non-food items (including a pair of Don’s glasses).
Most importantly, Donnie loved the Lord and had a personal relationship with Him for many years. We mourn his lose and miss him so much, but we rejoice that he is fully healed & in heaven – no more sorrow, no more pain.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Lantana at 6:00 PM , Friday, June 2, 2023
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lantana or the American Cancer Society.
