Doris J Moore's Obituary
Doris J. Moore, 82, of Boynton Beach, FL. A 22 yr resident of Jamaica Bay in Boynton Beach, she loved get togethers and block parties with her Bahama Bay friends. Doris once said she has the best neighbors in the world. She was also a long-standing member of Faith United Methodist Church.
Born in Myrtle, MS to Roy and Sybil Aston-Fair on May 25, 1938. She graduated from Myrtle High School. Doris moved to Aurora, IL with her brother Roy and sister in law Ruby, to seek employment in 1956. She met her future husband and married in 1959. Her greatest dream was for a daughter and in 1965 Rhonda blessed their lives. Love of family was Doris‘ greatest passion. Retiring to Florida to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren, Doris was able to witness her granddaughter Lauren become an OB/Gyn physician, and her grandson Christopher become an attorney.
Doris loved nature, animals, garage sales, fishing, exploring new areas and getting lost on long drives with her husband. She enjoyed painting, reading, and difficult puzzles. She was gentle at heart and always wearing a smile.
Just two months shy of their 60th wedding anniversary Fred passed away on March 14, 2019 03/14/19. Shortly after, Doris was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She battled a courageous fight with dignity, faith and grace. God blessed her with 14 great months with her family. Doris was surrounded by the love of her family until her last breath.
Doris is survived by her brother Billy Fair, daughter Rhonda Moore-Spoo(Henry Spoo), granddaughter Lauren Spoo(Will Carter), grandson Christopher Spoo(Briana Prieto), sister-in-law and life-long best friend Martha Groleski, brother-in-laws Raymond Moore, Lindell Moore(Arlene Moore), Larry Moore(Elizabeth Moore) and Joe Moore, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends throughout the US. Doris was a loving Christian, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend.
Doris is proceeded in death by her parents Roy and Sybil Aston-Fair, her in-laws Ray and Ruby Bridges-Moore, her loving husband Fred Moore, brother Roy Fair, Ruby Fair, sister Louise Churchill, Sonny Churchill, Delores Moore, Robert Moore, Catherine Moore, Charles Groleski, Charles Moore, Dean Moore, Shirley Moore-Jeffries, Wayne Jeffries, nephews James Churchill, Raymond Moore, Brian Moore, neices Crystal Morgan, Heather Groleski, Annice Jeffries and Diane Moore.
Conrad her guardian angel kitty loved and kept her company during her last 9 months.
