Douglas Allen Miles' Obituary
Douglas Allen Miles, beloved son of Steven Miles and Deborah Miles, stepson of Tari Miles (who he always considered his second mom), brother of Valerie Miles, Uncle to Jackson Rousseau, and stepbrother of Chad St Pierre and Ashley Mclaney, left this Earth on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Doug was employed by Walmart the majority of his life. He was an avid gamer, a lover of all things Star Wars, and enjoyed playing Magic cards with friends. Doug loved craft beers and his many friends.
He was a true people person and he devoted his free time to the many he loved. He was always up for an adventure with his close-knit group of friends, many of whom he had known since childhood. He considered them all family. Sundays or Mondays were spent at his mom’s, where he would visit with her, his sister and her boyfriend, and his adored nephew. Together they enjoyed many of his favorite meals because no one’s cooking was like his mama’s. He also had an intense football rivalry with Joseph, Valerie’s boyfriend. He spent numerous hours each week visiting with his 95 year old great aunt Eve, ensuring she was happy. His father and stepmother, Tari, thankfully lived just around the corner from Doug, which allowed them to spend many evenings in his backyard sharing stories and beer, barbecuing, shooting pool (and occasionally even beating dad), and singing so loud they would keep the neighbors awake.
Doug was well-liked by all he met and will be deeply missed. May he know how deeply he was loved and we hope he is resting easy in the arms of the angels. And as he recently paraphrased from one of his favorite shows, The Office, “Douglas Miles, somehow I manage!”
