Elaine Ann "Mama" Wurm's Obituary
Elaine Ann Wurm “Mama”, 83, of Winter Springs, FL passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, September 21st after a brief stay in hospice care surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on August 23rd, 1930, to Raymond and Loretta Jonas and moved her family to Winter Park, FL in the summer of 1964. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Hank” Wurm whom she has been waiting 31 years to be reunited with. She is survived by her sister Rayetta; Sister-In-Law Delores Jonas, four children Steve and his wife Rose, Diane Seaman, Jim and his wife Beth and John and his wife Maggie as well as her 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Life brought her many joys, most of which were from her family, and she also had a passion for tennis, bowling, the beach and her game show, Jeopardy. In Mama’s world, family always came first under any circumstance and she had an uncanny ability to provide so much for so many with very few means of her own. She had a knack for creating imaginative meals that are legendary among her family including “Christmas Dinner” and “Throw-up Casserole”. Elaine will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Memorial services will be held at Palm Beach Memorial Park in Lantana, Fl on Tuesday, September 24th with a viewing from 2 – 2:30 pm and an interment ceremony immediately after. In lieu of flowers, her family is requesting that donations be made in her memory to Hospice of the Comforter or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
