Eleanor Peace Wood Potter's Obituary
Eleanor Peace Wood Potter died quietly at her home in Delray Beach on September 22nd at age 94. She was the daughter of Robert Leaming Wood and Sophie Wheeler Wood and grew up in the Philadelphia area. During World War II she worked for the Navy in San Diego later returning to live in downtown Philadelphia. In 1980, after her marriage to Sheldon Potter III, they moved to Delray Beach where he predeceased her in 1985. A lady of strong convictions, wry humor, and remarkable independence, she spent many years working at the Delray Beach Library.
She is survived by her niece, Julia Barringer, her step daughter, Ann Richards, two great nephews, Bill Pitz and Nicholas Pitz, and two cousins, Alex Wheeler and Rick Wheeler. A memorial service will be held at her home on Wednesday, September 25 at 6 PM.
