Eric Hammond Lockwood's Obituary
Our beloved Eric H. Lockwood (born March 30, 1954, in Capitol Heights, Maryland to John W. Lockwood II and Patricia Louise Hammond) passed away on October 8, 2023, in West Palm Beach, FL.
“Erical Berical Boo Boo” or “Easy E” was known for his love of music and his incredible guitar skills. He played in multiple bands throughout his life. He helped form "The Twilights" in his younger years, and the last band he played with was called "One Eight Hundred." But he was far more than just a talented guitar player. He was an excellent golfer, and an extremely talented craftsman. Earning his journeyman and plumbing licenses in Maryland, Eric opened Custom Carpet Service in the early 1990's, and he was a master of repair, leaving things in better working condition than the day they were factory-made.
But his greatest passion of all was for his wife Debbie, their 3 children—Wesley, Matt, and Lacy—his grandchildren—Ryan, Dylan, Shyann, and Elena.
There was nothing Eric loved more than his family, and his love and affection was returned tenfold. Everyone who met Eric felt his joyous love through his humor, and he quickly added his friends to his family tree that spanned far and wide from Oregon to Maryland to South Florida.
Eric was preceded by his mother Patricia Louise Estep (2013), his father John W. Lockwood II (2005), his brother John W. Lockwood III (2014), his wife Debra Leigh Lockwood (2008), his daughter Lacy Leigh Lockwood (2017), and his son Matthew Robert Lockwood (2017). His niece Lori Weiss (2016), and nephew Andy Mitchell (2018). These losses broke his generous heart, but Eric had a support system that always surrounded him with love and strength on his darkest days.
Eric is survived by his son Wesley Ryan Lockwood, his daughter-in-law Shannon, his grandsons Ryan and Dylan Lockwood, his granddaughters Shyann Lockwood and Elena Cordo, his sisters Linda Smith and Deborah Lockwood, nieces and nephews Kamael Mishra, John W. Lockwood IV, Greta Quentin, Belle Lockwood, Franceska McKee, Cindy Dalkle, Darla Cordo, James Broomfield, Anthony Broomfield, Christine Cullen, Michael Evans, Avy Mitchell, and Hannah Lehle. Just like all the things he repaired and tinkered with, Eric leaves this world better than he found it, and he will always be missed and never forgotten.
