Eunice Eleen Pfeffer's Obituary
Eunice Eleen (Iverson) Pfeffer left this earth on November 17th, 2022 to join her many family members and friends who went before her. She was welcomed in heaven by her parents, Elmer and Ella, her loving husband Bill, her sisters, Glennis and Shirley and brother Elwood. She was 98 years old.
Eunice was born on July 6, 1924 in a little farmhouse with no electricity or insulation on the prairie of Yellow Medicine County in Minnesota and lived in Michigan, Minnesota, and Florida during her lifetime. Eunice enjoyed music and dancing, travel, playing cards and hosting her family and friends at her home at every opportunity. She was happiest when those she loved were all seated around her table, either sharing a meal or playing cards.
Eunice was a renaissance woman, adept at many things—wife, mother, restaurateur, hair stylist, and business owner. She hated the cold and hated to lose at cards! As her mother before her, she was not a warm and fuzzy grandmother but was always your champion. She followed politics with a passion and shared her opinions freely. Her house was always open to anyone and she probably had a cookie or slice of pie to feed you.
Eunice is survived by her children, David (Val) Pfeffer of Palm City; FL, Dan (Deb) Pfeffer of Kalamazoo, MI; Sue (Wynn) Barlow of Asheville, NC; Sandy (Gaines) McMillan of Roxboro, NC. She was the beloved grandmother of Karen Pfeffer, Danny (Kristen) Pfeffer, Kristy (Jay) Barlow Capodiferro, David Eugene Pfeffer, Billy Pfeffer, Aaron (Leigh) Barlow, Danielle (Bobby) Gibson, Park McMillan, and Kay McMillan. Eunice will also be missed by her step-grandchildren, Bryce (Margie) Barbato, Gregg (Agnes) Barbato and Noah Capodiferro. Eunice also had several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her card playing partner in crime, Zan Witte, and her bridge friends.
Rest in peace Eunice. There is gladness in our hearts as you join Elmer, Ella, Bill, Glennis, Shirley, Elwood and all the friends you made throughout your life. We know there is music, dancing, and Windsor in Heaven.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of Eunice’s amazing life. In lieu of flowers, donations to Youth LEAD NC, PO Box 90762, Raleigh, NC 27675 are appreciated.
