Flossy Shipman's Obituary
FLOSSY MAGER SHIPMAN, died quickly and peacefully with Hospice by her side on July 14, 2019 at JFK Hospital in Lake Worth, Florida at the age of 94. Flossy passed after a long illness and had been taken care of for many years by Oasis Healthcare Center in Lake Worth, FL.
Flossy is survived by Martin (Pamela) Mager of Saline, MI, Richard (Lisa) Shipman of Lutz, FL, Susan Shipman of Tampa, FL, and Robert (Pamela) Shipman of Pawleys Island, SC. Flossy was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Mager in 1972 and by her second husband Robert Shipman, Sr., in 2000. Flossy was a proud Grandmother of 9 grandkids and Great Grandmother of 12.
Flossy was born on January 1, 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wadzek. In 1947, Flossy graduated from Lamar College with a degree in Finance. Flossy and Bob Mager moved to Michigan and eventually settled into Ann Arbor in 1959. Together they ran Mager Scientific, Inc. Bob and Flossy were members of Barton Hills Country Club during their time in Ann Arbor. Flossy loved playing golf after Bob taught her. In their early marriage, Bob and Flossy loved to go pheasant hunting. After Bob Mager passed away from illness in 1972, Flossy married Bob Shipman in 1974 and they spent their married years in southeast Florida. Flossy had been a realtor during most of her time in Lake Worth, Florida after they had enjoyed many years in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Flossy and Bob loved getting out on their boat. Flossy was embraced by the families of Shipman Circle in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Cremation has taken place and Flossy will have her ashes placed in a niche at Washtenong Memorial Park and Cemetery in Ann Arbor, MI. No public memorial service will be held. The family does plan a gathering in Flossy’s memory as part of a Family Reunion in the summer of 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Hospice of Palm Beach County, Florida.
