Frank Jarvis "Judd" Lawson III, 1927-2015, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully Monday evening, June 22, 2015, with his wife and daughter by his side in Boca Raton, FL. Judd will be remembered as a devoted husband, dedicated father, talented salesman and friend to all. Judd was born in Newburgh, NY on July 15, 1927, to Frank Jarvis Lawson Jr. and Pauline Krimmling Thayer Lawson at 151 Grand Street. He graduated from Newburgh Free Academy High School (Class of 1944) and received his Liberal Arts degree from Virginia Military Institute (VMI), in 1948, in Lexington, VA. He was called to serve his country during WW II in the US Army from 1946 through 1947 while still at VMI. After he was honorably discharged and returned to complete his University degree, he continued to serve our country in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve, upon graduation, until he was honorably discharged in 1958. He married the love of his life, Helen Claire Jacques, in Newburgh, NY on June 19, 1954. Judd was employed by The Reuben H. Donnelley Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dun & Bradstreet Corp, in Newburgh, NY, for 32 years and was the consummate salesman until his last days. He loved playing golf at a very young age while spending summers at his family's cabin on Lake Osiris at the Osiris Country Club, Walden, NY. He continued to golf for many years at the Powelton Club, Newburgh, NY until he retired full time to Boca Raton, FL for the beautiful weather and his two daughters, who already lived there. He was an avid philatelist since a teen and belonged to the American Philatelic Society, attending Boca Raton S&C Club Chapter Stamp Club mtgs in Boca Raton, FL, until his death. Judd loved traveling all over the country with his family and rarely stayed home for too many weeks in a row. After retirement, he and and Helen traveled the world and truly loved their cruises to places the likes of Egypt, Hawaii, Alaska, Spain, and Italy, and all the lovely meals. In later years, when his "knees weren't so good", he re-visited his love of Bridge and became an Avid Player. He continued to play with the Jourdans Bridge Club in Delray Beach, FL, throughout his Cancer treatment right up until weeks before he passed away. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Helen (Boca Raton, FL), his children, Dr. Charles Lawson and his wife Mary (Poplar Bluff, MO), Cynthia LoCastro (Pflugerville, TX), and Nancy Lawson-Birk (Austin, TX), and six grandchildren, Allison Alt, Andrew Alt, Blake Lawson, Brooks Lawson, Sophia Birk and Simon Birk.
