Grace A. Allegra's Obituary
Grace Assunta Corica Allegra, 89 years old, peacefully passed from this earth to her heavenly Father on March 24, 2013. Born in Paterson, New Jersey to Bianca and Frank Corica, Grace was a resident of Lake Worth, Florida for 25 years and more recently resided in Spring Hill, Florida for the last 5 years. She is predeceased by her husband Frank who died in December 2011 after 65 years of marriage. Grace is survived by her 3 sons and their spouses; Francis and Debbie Allegra, Joseph and Diane Allegra and Vincent Allegra; 6 grandchildren, Francesca, Christina, Nicholas, Danielle, Joseph and Vanessa. Grace was a fervent Catholic and was instrumental in the formation of a new church 25 years ago now known as St. Matthew R.C. Church. There she was an active participant in the Council of Catholic Women and an altar server as well. Grace was a homemaker and raised 3 sons, and then she eventually worked for 18 years as a secretary in the Passaic County Clerk’s office in Paterson, New Jersey. She worked tirelessly for St. Paul’s R.C. Church in New Jersey for the Catholic Youth Organization, Rosary Society and Columbiettes. Grace was a fervent Catholic who loved Jesus and Mary, her husband Frank, her children and grandchildren, the New York Yankees, Frank Sinatra, traveling and sea cruises and her life in Lake Worth where she was surrounded by loving and supportive friends. She was a great wife, a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Grace was our mentor, our counselor and our rock. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation with her family will be held Tuesday April 2nd from 3:00 PM – 7:30 PM at Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday April 3rd at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew R.C. Church, 6090 Hypoluxo Road, Lake Worth, FL followed by entombment at Palm Beach Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
