Harold Herman Schuddekopf's Obituary
Harold Herman Schuddekopf age 83 of Lake Worth, Florida passed away peacefully on August 9, 2014. Harold was born on October 24, 1930 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Mr. Henry Louis Schuddekopf and the late Mrs. Hertha (nee Kolitz) Schuddekopf. He moved to the Palm Beach County area in 1978 coming from Hoboken, New Jersey. Harold worked for the United States Postal Service for over fifteen years as a Maintenance Engineer. Harold loved the game of Baseball and you could find him on the field playing with the Lake Worth Senior Softball Team. During his High School years, Harold lettered in Football, Baseball and Track & Field. Harold was a “DIE HARD FAN” of the Miami Dolphins, even after Dan Marino retired from the team. Harold could create laughter from every situation regardless of when and where it happened, and who or what was involved in the circumstances. His greatest love was his family and he always placed them first! Harold was met at the Gates of Heaven by his beloved wife, Marion Catherine (nee Schoonmaker) Schuddekopf, waiting for him since January 19, 1997 and his brother, Nicky Schuddekopf, waiting for him since 1982. Harold leaves behind to forever honor his eternal memory his seven loved children, Kathleen (Carl) Slabicki, Harold Schuddekopf and his predeceased wife, Rowe (nee Brawley) Schuddekopf in 2013, Henry Schuddekopf, Lisa Hamby, Kris Schuddekopf, Jamie Schuddekopf and Kevin Schuddekopf and his wife, Carrie; his admired sister, Diane Lukham; his seventeen adored grandchildren; and eight treasured great grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held 1:15 PM on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida 33449, (561) 649-6489 with Reverend David A. Miller, ThD officiating and the United States Marine Corp. presenting Military Honors to the Family. The family has suggested that donations be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407 in Loving Memory of Harold Herman Schuddekopf.
