Helen M. Hecht's Obituary
Since June 21, 2014, Helen Hecht age 97 of Delray Beach, Florida has entered into Paradise and has been forever locked in an eternal embrace with her beloved husband, Joseph Hecht; whom has been waiting for her arrival since his passing on October 11, 2013. Helen was born on May 2, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York to her late parents, Mr. Jacob Langbaum and Mrs. Yetta (nee Schiffer) Langbaum. Helen met and married the love of her life, Joseph Hecht; whom seved in the United States Army and while at the same time she was serving in the United Sates Navy. It was a match made in Heaven from the moment their eyes first met with one another. Joseph and Helen settled down in Valley Stream, Long Island, New York to raise their family and in 1976 moved to the Delray Beach area to retire and enjoy the South Florida Sunshine. Helen was a member of Temple Emeth in Delray Beach; where she would worship and give praise to her God. Helen loved to play the classics on her Organ, and in her earlier years take in a game of golf at a local course with her husband, Joseph. She also loved to excercise her mind with a good crossword puzzle and knit and crochet homemade items for her family in her spare time. Throughout their lives, Joseph and Helen loved to travel abroad to visit various places around the Globe. Helen was a kind and generous woman with a huge heart; she never had an unkind word for anyone. She was always a Lady at all times. She did however, like to flirt in her elder years; but it was simply to extend her love and affection and gain some attention from others. Helen's keen mind was sharp as a tack all the way up till the end of her days. Helen was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Hecht in 1981 and most recently her sister, Elaine Brown on May 26, 2014. She will forever be loved and honored by her son, Lee Hecht and his wife, Lorraine; her two adored grandchildren, Daniel Hecht and David Hecht; her two treasured great grandsons, Mason Hecht and Logan Hecht; and her admired brother, Ira Langbaum and his wife, Lillian. A Jewish Graveside Service will be held 11:OO AM in Palm Beach Memorial Park, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 585-6444 with Rabbi Leonard Zucker the officiant.
