Hermena Melinda Thompson Bowley's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hermena Melinda Thompson Bowley, who departed this life on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 82 years old. Hermena passed away peacefully at home in Boynton Beach, Florida, surrounded by loved ones.
Hermena was born on March 19, 1942, in Lawrence Park, Keith District in the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica to Arabella Gordon and Ivan Burnett.
Hermena was a devout Christian who loved the Lord through all her pain and suffering. She always had a bright smile and a listening ear for friends and family. She was a talented dressmaker and was active in her church at the International Pentecostal City Mission Church of Boynton Beach.
Hermena is survived by her husband Harris Bowley, and her children: Maurice, Harvin (Desmond), Wilfred (Tony), Donald (Wayne), Venesia and Diane (Marcia); grandchildren: Tahjay, Savannah, Tariq, Daniel and Kizarny (Kizzy); great granddaughter Amora; stepchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends – all of whom she loved and cherished. She is reunited in rest with her father, mother, two brothers and two sisters.
A celebration of Hermena’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 9 AM at Salem Community Church of God, 3200 Roberts Lane, Lake Worth, FL. Viewing will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM at the Palm Beach Memorial Park located at 3691 North Seacrest Blvd, Lantana FL. Friends and family are invited to attend.
