Irene Poulos' Obituary
Irene Galantis Poulos, 80, of West Palm Beach, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015 surrounded by her loving husband and family. Her viewing will be at Palm Beach Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 6 PM-8 PM. On Wednesday November 18, 2015 a funeral service will be at 10 AM at St. Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Church.
Irene was born on August 16, 1935 in Campbell, Ohio, daughter of Dimitrios and Koula (Billi) Galantis. She was extremely active in her church and a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society.
Irene graduated from Campbell Memorial High School and worked for the Mahoning County Recorder’s Office prior to her marriage to Lou Poulos on November 19, 1971. Irene and Lou lived and worked on Andros Island, Bahamas for 7 years working for the US Government Autec Navy Project. They relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida and both retired in 1991.
Family was most important to Irene, she will always be remembered as a loving wife, sister, aunt and loving mom to her precious puppy Kukla. She will be sadly missed by her husband and her entire family.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Louis G. Poulos, her brother and sister-in-law Tom and Bess Galantis of Campbell, Ohio and their three children, Christine (Pete) Triveri, James (Kellie) Galantis, Nick (Danielle) Galantis, her sister-in-law Jennie Galantis of Morehead City, N.C. and her daughter Nikki Galantis. A niece, Renee Constant-Gahagan of Daytona Beach, Florida and her nephew James (Marina) Constant of New Castle, PA and many great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Nick Galantis and sister and brother in-law Angeline and Sotiri.
Irene will always be remembered by all for her compassion, friendship and for being a true lady.
