Jack Lynn Stearns Sr., (81) of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024.
Jack, also known as Senior or Poppy, was born to Willis and Anna Stearns (Coats) on August
15,1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was raised by his loving Aunt Freda Schwomeyer and her
husband William.
As a young man, he enjoyed playing the coronet and had a deep love for jazz music. Jack later
joined the Air Force where he served dutifully for 4 years. After the military, Jack went to work
as a block mason and started a successful masonry company. Today, as you drive the South
Florida landscape, you can easily recognize many of the commercial buildings Jack built. When
he was not working, he enjoyed playing tennis.
Jack was also a member of the Baha’i Faith, a world embracing religion that promotes the
oneness of God, humanity, and religion. He served as the director of the South Florida Baha’i
Roadshow, a group that performed across the state of Florida and shared the message of unity
in diversity through music, drama, and dance in the early 80’s.
Jack has 6 children, John Stearns, Michelle Parker, Joseph Stearns (deceased), Wendy Bullock
(Brian), Jack Stearns Jr. (Michele) by his former wife Joan Mazur and Jason Stearns by his

Briton Bullock, Jalen Bullock, Rachael Ruha-Hernandez (Kevin), Juliana Stearns, Sara Stearns,
Jack-Ryan Stearns, Jordan Stearns as well as one great grandchild, Rowan Fjord.
Jack valued hard work and continued in his field until his body no longer allowed him to. In his
later years, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of Sunday breakfasts out and playing cards with
his family.
He will be remembered as a man with a sweet smile and a love of ice cream.
Jack will be interred at the South Florida National Cemetery on March 22, 2024
