James Butler Summers' Obituary
Summers, James Butler “Jim” was born to Eustosia and Thomas A. (Al) Summers of Boynton Beach on July 7, 1938 in Harrisburg, Illinois and grew up in Pontiac, Michigan with his sisters, Jeany and Julie. Jim passed away on February 5, 2021.
Jim joined the Army in 1956 and spent his tour in Europe. After the service, Jim moved to Florida to be with his family.
Jim joined his father in Summers Electric in Boynton Beach as a Master Electrician and Contractor. Jim later started a General Electric and Whirlpool dealership, sales and service.
Jim was the Scout Master of Troup 395 of Boynton Beach for thirteen years and twice president of the Morning Group of Boynton Beach Kiwanis.
In 1987 Jim met his soulmate Linda Ferrara of Boynton Beach, FL. This is when his life really began. Jim and Linda wed in 1991. After retiring, Jim and Linda fulfilled their dream of travelling the country in their motor home.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife Linda, his sister Julie and her daughter Allie, his sons Duncan and William, daughter Leigh, nephew Ted and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his sister Jeany, brother, William (Kelly), daughter Jennifer, and nephew Joseph.
