Jane Alice Perkins' Obituary
Jane A Perkins (Nordborg), age 79, of Lantana, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of Leslie Perkins for 62 years. She resided in Upton Massachusetts with her family for over 30 years before moving to Lantana, Florida.
Jane was the daughter of the late Alice and Hugo Nordborg of Auburn, Massachusetts.
She was preceded in death by her brother Paul Nordborg of Massachusetts; and
she is survived by two sisters, Grayce Gillman of Nevada and Eleanor Sullivan of
North Carolina, and an Aunt, Anna Bertha Lund of Massachusetts and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was a loving Mother of a son James Perkins of Lantana and two daughters Patricia Rice of Lake Worth and the late Rebecca Winters of West Palm Beach.
She graduated from Auburn High School, Worcester State College and Framingham State College with a Masters degree in Early Childhood Development and Education. Jane worked in childhood education for many years before moving to Florida. Jane loved working with children. She was the Director of the Wee Care Children's Day Center in Delray Beach for several years and was a congregant of the Cason United Methodist Church and also she served as a bell ringer for the Church's hand bell choir.
She was a member of both the Red Hat Society and the Pack and Paddle Club of West Palm Beach. Jane enjoyed making handmade crafts, sewing and quilting. She was also a member and served as the Historian of the Palm Beach County Quilters Guild for several years.
She will be honored at a private service.
