Janice Ruth Baker's Obituary
Janice 'Jan' Ruth Baker, age 81, of Greenacres, FL, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025.
Jan was born in Marysville, Kansas on August 5, 1944, to Edgar and Darlene Wienck (Bargman) and was the oldest of 6 children. She relocated to Mt. Clemens, Michigan in 1968 and then to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1971. After settling in Florida, she obtained her real estate license and later her community association manager's license. Jan retired from property management in 2014.
In her free time, she enjoyed reading, cruising, and visting her family in Kansas and Georgia as well as working in her garden and tending to her orchids.
Jan is preceded in death by her father Edgar Wienck, her dad Ross Savage, her mother Darlene Savage, children Randy Jacobs and Diane Spencer, and sisters Patricia 'Pat' Savage and Ladonna Hornkohl. She is survived by her children James Jacobs of Greenacres, FL and Shannon (Robert) Mealey of Boynton Beach, FL, son-in-law Bruce Spencer of Savannah, GA, grandchildren Chris, Jessica (Robert), and Ashley, and great-grandchildren Corbin and Dylan. Jan also leaves behind her brother Ralph (Sara) Wienck, sisters Sue Ownbey and Beth (Randy) Meyer, three generations of nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
