My fond memories of Jerry will live with me forever. Jerry was someone who was always looking to do things to help people, his devotion to fire rescue is a prime example of that trait. Jerry was known to my kids as “you you” he called my granddaughter Jessa his little darling. I called Jerry “you you” because he had a problem remembering people’s names. Often he would tell me that this “new kid” is going to play cards with us because he could not remember his name. But he had no problem remembering what cards had been played when he beat me up in Gin. He never had a problem remembering numbers. He would ask we whether I knew about a problem at 14717 Lucy and I would not have a clue what he was talking about.
I will not be able to go into a new restaurant or go on cruise without remembering Jerry. Any time we would go into a new restaurant we would leave with Jerry knowing the owner’s life story and making sure the owner knew who we were. He would not hesitate to let the owner know if anything was wrong with the service. By the end of any cruise we went on the whole crew would know Jerry. He made sure that we received the best service and he knew every level of food servers from our waiter to the head chef. We would always wind up getting better service in any restaurant or any cruise because of Jerry.
I will miss him.
