John Anthony Palazzo's Obituary
John Anthony Palazzo beloved father and grandfather passed away peacefully on July 26, 2014 at the Hawthorne Health & Rehabilitation of Ocala with the empathetic staff of Marion County Hospice attending to his final needs. John was born on June 13, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois to his loving parents, the late Mr. Joseph Palazzo and the late Mrs. Mimi (nee Mistretta) Palazzo. He formerly resided in the Boynton Beach, Florida area for thirty years before moving to the Ocala, Florida area seventeen years ago. John served his Country valiantly during World War II as an Aerial Gunner and Ammunitions Load Specialist in the United States Army Air Corp. serving courageous missions over hostile areas in the China Burma India Theater (CBI). He was formerly a member of the V.F.W. Post #5335, Boynton Beach, Florida for nearly thirty years. John was a very handy person and liked to work in wood. He also loved to go fishing, whenever he had the chance to gear up and cast a line for the "one that nearly got away". During his earlier years growing up in Chicago, John was faithful to helping his family in whatever challenge or endeavor might come their way by systematically coming up with a plan and using his own resourceful nature to come up with a solution. He was a hardworking and honest man, well liked by those that knew him. He has left this temporal plane of existence here on Earth and entered the ethereal plane at Heaven's Gate to join his beloved wife, Angela Palazzo who has been waiting for his arrival since February 18, 2012. "His final Chapter has been fulfilled and offered up to the Great Commander in the Sky!" John will be forever loved and honored by his three children, John J. Palazzo and his wife, Debra of Ocala, Florida, Rosemary Schmidt and her husband, Kent, Sr. of Live Oak, Florida and Joyce Ann Davis and her husband, Bruce W. of Crossville, Tennessee; five adored grandchildren, Aimee Gail Palazzo of Black Mountain, North Carolina, Brandon Palazzo of McIntosh, Florida, Shelley Ann McDonald of Jacksonville, Florida, Rosemarie McDonald of Austin, Texas and Mark R. McDonald, Sr. and his wife, Stacy of Daytona Beach, Florida; and his eight treasured great grandchildren, Corey Patrick Riley, Ryan Marshall Riley and Bryanna Joy McDonald, Samantha Marie McDonald, Cassie Rae McDonald, Tyler McDonald, Anna Spurlin, and Melina Spurlin.
