My Beautiful Sister 💕Joy💕 You were always caring and loving and willing to help others....when I couldn't find popcorn balls, you'd find them for me and not one package but twenty.....and tincel, 15 yrs. ago when nobody was using it on their tree, you found them for me, only this time you bought me about 50 packages.....have about 10 left......you searched, found and always with a smile on your face......guide me sister, I'm looking for Bosco and can't find.....we had our disagreements but the bond and love between sisters are forever 💕
I celebrate the life of "Joy", my most favorite cousin of all time. Her mother could not have chosen a more apt name for such a special person.
Growing up, she lived on Staten Island; her mom was my mother's dearest friend. I lived on a mosquito-infested farm located on the edge of the 55,000 acre wetlands near Smyrna, Delaware.
We were the same age, and whenever our families could get together, she and I ran about incessantly, telling stories, playing games, and laughing until the tears flowed.
To this day, I smile remembering her boundless enthusiasm; our childhood connection stayed with me to this very day.
Little did I know (years later) when she showed up one summer day on the back of a motorcycle with her soon-to-be husband, Al, that she was moving to the next chapter in her book of life: a loving relationship with Al that would last for more than fifty four (?) years, bring "joy" to all they encountered along the way.
Goodbye dear friend; may you rest in peace...

To the Burlando Family,
I am so sad to hear about Joyce. When I visited her last week, she was so upbeat and had high hopes.Joyce was definitely a YES person and wanted to be part of everything. Unfortunately she was held back physically. We all loved her in the Maj game & she LOVED playing with us. I am so grateful to God that she had an easy passing and the family was at her side. She will be missed.
Love,
Helene
