Laina Siren's Obituary
Beloved Wife and Mother, Laina Siren age 85 of Lake Worth, Florida joined her beloved husband of fifty eight years, Pentti Siren on Saturday June 21, 2014 in an eternal embrace at the Gates of Heaven; Pentti has been waiting for her arrival since May 9, 2014. Laina was born on November 30, 1928 in Nilsia, Finland to her late parents, Mr. Jaako Ville Kokkonen and Mrs. Anna Elina (nee Vaananen) Kokkonen. Laina and Penti moved to the South Florida area twenty three years ago from their home in the Bronx, New York and they shared a summertime home in Hopewell Junction (Lomala) New York. Laina worked for many years as a Waitress for an Executive Dining Room for a large Textile Company. She also worked as an Exclusive Cocktail Waitress for Elite and Powerful people for many years. She loved her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and attended the St Andrews Lutheran Church in Lake Worth, Florida. She was a member of the American Finnish Club - Kerhotalo (aka Kettahaali) in Lake Worth, Florida and the Finn Hall in Lantana, Florida. Laina was a very kind, gentle and affable lady; who never had an unkind word for anyone. She will be forever remembered for her big smile, bright eyes and beautiful demeanor. Laina leaves behind to forever honor and cherish her memory a loving son, Gerry Siren of Bronx, New York; her devoted niece, Seija Kolehmainen of Larchmont, New York; an admired brother and sister, Reino Kokkonen and Aili Kokkonen both of Finland; as well as several other family members in Finland and her dearest friends, Tuula Luostarinen of Margate, Florida and Raili Thomasson, Irja and Unto Aro, Nick and Maire Pappalardo, Raimo and Anja Karjalinen, Karl and Nina Lindroos, & Ia Asumaa. Laina was also preceded in death by her son, Lee Siren who has also been waiting for her arrival since 2009. A Celebration of Life Service for Laina Siren and Pentti Siren will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Palm Beach Memorial Park, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, FL 33462, (561) 586-1237.
