Laurabelle Brola's Obituary
Laurabelle McNeece Brola died on Friday, October 4, 2013. "Toots" was born in Hazelton, Indiana on December 10, 1920 to Alberta and Fred McNeece. She had two older siblings, Wilma and Bud. In 1926, the family moved to Ft. Lauderdale then to Delray Beach in 1933. Laurabelle graduated valedictorian of her class from Delray High School at the age of 17. She worked for Sam Ogren, an architect, until 1940 when she started working at the Florida State Bank. She retired from the now Sun Trust Bank on Atlantic Ave., in 1986 as Vice President- Controller. Laurabelle was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Delray, The Boca Delray Music Society, and was an editor of the Highlights newspaper. She loved music, theater, bowling, sewing, knitting, arts and crafts, camping and travel. Laurabelle is predeceased by her husband Sam, her sister Wilma, her brother Bud and her first grandchild, Robbie. She is survived by daughters, Laurel Sellers McIntyre and Susan Sellers Cox and her granddaughter Stacy Herig. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 10:00AM to 11:30AM with an 11:30AM Funeral Service at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Avenue (Federal Hwy Northbound) in Delray Beach. Burial will follow at Palm Beach Memorial Park located in Lantana, FL.
