Llewellyn E. Marsha's Obituary
Llewellyn Elizabeth Marsha (Belote)
Llewellyn was born in New York on January 28, 1926 to Gladys and William Belote. She was 92 years young at the time of her death on October 16, 2018.
Llewellyn (aka Skeeter Bug, Skeet, Mom, Miss Mommy and Grandma) was raised in the state of New York with her parents and little sister, Miriam. After graduating from high school, she continued her education at The Faxton Hospital School of Nursing in Utica, New York. 1946 was a busy year - she married Roy S. Marsha and completed her studies, earning her Registered Nurse's degree. Llewellyn and Roy were blessed with four children, pets and school/ sports activities for quite awhile! The family moved to Florida in 1964 and when her youngest entered middle school, she returned to nursing - administering care on the post- op floor at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach. Llewellyn retired in 1988.
Now an empty nester, she had the time to pursue some hobbies such as growing orchids and violets. She and Roy finally adopted a dog of their own, Ginger and later, Bear. She also followed the Dolphins and the Heat basketball team for many years. She was an avid reader, including not just books, but medical newsletters and dog journals. The Palm Beach Post was read from cover to cover. She loved discussing politics and the state of the world. She was always well prepared!
After her husband's death in 1999, she continued to maintain her home and follow her interests. Llewellyn was blessed with good health, strong knees and a high level of self-discipline. This past year was a challenge for her, both physically and emotionally. She left her home and moved in with her youngest daughter and her husband. This tiny little 91 year old lady fought her illness and her loss of strength and independence, but she faced everything head on and with her own sense of humor and joy.
Llewellyn is survived by her children, Carol McCann, Gary Marsha, Susan Zammit (Bill) and William Marsha as well as her sister, Miriam Hogle, who resides in East Chatham, New York.
She is a Grandma to five: Christina Pierce(Jamie), Liscia Manuel (Ric), Emily Jacobs (John), Kristina Black (Stephen) and Eric Marsha (Tasha).
She is also a Great-Grandmother to five: Wyatt and Rachel Pierce, Diego and Philippe Manuel and Wriley Jacobs.
She is loved. She will be missed.
