Dr. Lorna Marie Wright-Williams' Obituary
Dr. Lorna Marie Wright-Williams of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 8th, 2026, at the age of 58. She was born on December 25th, 1967, in Westmoreland, Jamaica to Naomirene Bowen and Leroy Wright. Lorna was one of five siblings. She attended St. Andrew High School for Girls where she thrived. After migrating to the United States, she attended Johnson C. Smith University where she completed her Bachelor's Degree. Lorna later earned a PhD in Chemistry at Georgia Institute of Technology and had a focused career in research for many years. She married Bernard Williams in 1992, and they spent 34 wonderful years together. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, being a soccer mom, and spending time with her family.
Lorna was a brilliant mind who excelled in all of her academic and intellectual endeavors. To her children, she was a dedicated and protective mother, and to her community, she was a bright light with an infectious smile. She was remarkably generous with her time, whether she was volunteering at school or tutoring students in math and chemistry. Lorna's influence on those around her is immeasurable, and she is deeply missed.
Lorna is survived by her husband, Bernard, and her children; Winston, Ashlee, and Laura. A funeral service will be held at Royal Palm Presbyterian Church on May 2, 2026, at 10 a.m.
