Margaret Sturm Comiskey's Obituary
Margaret “Marge” Sturm Comiskey, 100 (yes, one-hundred years young), of Boynton Beach, FL passed away peacefully on December 21, 2016. She was born in Ridgewood NY, on September 16, 1916 the daughter of John and Margarete Sigl. She was predeceased by her first husband and love of her life, Frank Sturm in Dec 1975, her second husband George Comiskey in July 1987, her beloved daughter, Joanne Lorenzetti, and sons-in-law Henry Lorenzetti and Robert Kull.
Ms. Sturm Comiskey grew up in New York and met Frank in 1936. After a short engagement, they were married at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brooklyn, NY on January 30, 1938 and lived together in Greenport, Long Island. They had two beautiful daughters together, Joanne and Patricia. Marge worked for many years in her husband’s business, Sturm’s Shoe Store, in Greenport, NY. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and also creating beautiful art work as she was very talented in silk art. She moved to Lantana, FL where she lived nearby to her dear friends, Herman and Vicky Ficken. She spent summers in Fontana, WI and for several summers enjoyed living on Cape Cod, MA. In her retirement, she enjoyed many things but mostly traveling, especially going on cruises. She traveled many times to Hawaii and abroad, including China. Her favorite pastime was going to casinos; she loved her many trips to Las Vegas. While living at Brookdale Retirement Community her favorite activity happened the last Monday of each month – they provided a bus trip to the casino! She looked forward to those trips each month.
She recently celebrated her 100-year milestone. Two of her granddaughters, Kathy and Diane, flew to Florida to celebrate with her. They took her out to a wonderful dinner at Prime Catch in Boynton Beach where she had her most favorite meal, Lobster Tail.
Surviving her are her daughter Patricia Kull of Cutchogue, NY and her grandchildren; Debra Simicich and her husband Richard of Mattituck, NY; Donna Kull of Port Jefferson Station, NY; Kathryn Morse and her fiancé Michael Demers of Chelmsford, MA; Carolyn DesCoteaux and her husband Alfred of Omaha, NE; Diane Mailloux and her husband Jeremie of W. Barnstable, MA and Robert Kull Jr of Pembroke Pines, Florida. Also surviving her are 8 great-grandchildren:
Jonathan Morse, Kristian Shoenhaar, Hayley DesCoteaux, Matthew DesCoteaux, Gabriella Kull, MacKenzie Kull-Zwillman, Ali DesCoteaux, and Dean DesCoteaux.
She will be laid to rest in St. Agnes Cemetery in Greenport, NY next to her beloved husband Frank. A small graveside ceremony will be planned for Spring 2017.
