Tomorrow, we gather to say goodbye to my dear grandson, Private First Class Marion Douglas. At just 20 years old, you had already grown into such a remarkable young man. After graduating high school and with unwavering courage, you joined the Army, rising to become a proud Private First Class. But beyond your achievements, you were pure light-always full of love, always kind, always respectful and most of all always calling me Grandma.

My nephew was truly one of a kind. He carried himself with so much respect, not just for others but for himself, and that’s something that always stood out about him. He served in the Army with pride and courage, and that alone speaks volumes about the kind of man he was strong, selfless, and dedicated.
But beyond that, he was simply a beautiful soul. Always smiling, always bringing light into the room without even trying. He had a kind heart, the kind that made people feel comfortable, loved, and seen. He never carried himself in a negative way he was respectful, loving, and genuine in everything he did.
What means the most to me is that he looked up to me. That’s something I will forever hold close to my heart. To know that someone as amazing as him saw something in me worth admiring is a gift I’ll never take for granted.
He was handsome, yes but his true beauty came from within. A good person, through and through. The kind of person you don’t forget, the kind of person this world needed more of.
I will miss him deeply, but I will always carry his spirit with me his smile, his love, and the way he made people feel. Forever loved, forever remembered.

I hadn't had the chance to be in Marion life as much as I wanted to but getting to know him he was a great young man with a good head on his shoulder he reminds me of my son maliek positive mindset and knows what he wants in life it hurts that his life was shortened God only takes the best especially in this messy world we live in no parent should have to bury there child his legacy will live on my condolences to the family may God give you strength in your challenging times 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🫶🏿🫶🏿🫶🏿💔💔💔
