Mary A White's Obituary
Mary Augustine White passed away peacefully on December 21, 2019 at the Bethesda Hospital West in Boynton Beach, Florida at the age of 91. She was born on April 22, 1928 in Clarendon, Jamaica W.I. to Susan Nethersole and George Walters.
Mary married Cleveland White and raised three sons. She was a loving mother and dressmaker for many years before migrating to the United States of America. She worked for many years as a nurse’s aide in Long Island New York caring for patients before retiring to Palm Beach County Florida in 2005. She continued to enjoy her passion for cooking, gardening and shopping. In recent years Mary resided at the Brookdale Senior Living facility in Boynton Beach, Florida. Cleveland her eldest son retired from New York and spent his time visiting with her and sharing many memorable moments. Mary was able to reunite with old friends and make new ones in Florida, especially at The Florida Gardens Baptist Church which she attended both services and Sunday school.
Special Thank You to all of Mary’s friends and relatives for their caring and support. Mary was especially grateful for Greta’s faithful caregiving through the past several years as well as for the excellent care provided by the Brookdale staff.
Mary joins her husband Cleveland and two younger sons Kurt and Mark as well as her sisters Beryl, Angela and brother Philip. She leaves behind many family and friends among them are her sister Mazie (Sweetie), son Cleveland, daughter-in-law Bessie, grandson Damien, step grandchildren Valerie, Smiley, Biggie, Curtis nieces and nephews Carol and Roy, Dana, Jacqueline and Victor, Steadman, Janice, Rahama and George, Jackie and Michael, Norah and George, Val, Yvonne and Martin, grandnieces Camille, Keisha, Jacque, Triki, April, Nina, Nadia, Victoria, Terry, Grandnephews Andre, Charles, David, Steven, Darren, and Dustin, great-nephews Jalen and Jackson great-niece Serenity and several other grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Mary will be dearly missed.
Her funeral service and entombment will be held on January 12, 2020 beginning at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3691 Seacrest Blvd, Lantana, FL 33462. There will be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Alzheimers Association, www.alz.org, in tribute to Mary A. White, or to the Florida Gardens Baptist Church, www.gofgbc.org.
