Nancy Catherine Powell's Obituary
Nancy Catherine Powell age 73 of Lake Worth, Florida formerly of Palm Beach, Florida went home to join her Beloved Husband, Walter Powell in Heaven on October 6, 2014, whom preceded her in death on December 25, 2006. Nancy was born on February 27, 1941 to the late Mr. Russell Kelsey Sloan and the late Mrs. Margaret (nee McGrath) Sloan. Nancy moved from her residence in Midlothian, Virginia sixteen years ago, so that she could be closer to her family in Florida. Nancy loved to create scrapbooks of favorite family photos and loved socializing with her family and friends. She most especially loved to take her granddaughter, Brooke shopping; whom she called her shopping buddy. Nancy also loved to share her time and talents as a volunteer with Hospice of Palm Beach County. Nancy was a devout Catholic and loved to pray and worship at her parish Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lantana, Florida. She was a very kind, generous and deeply caring person always placing others before herself. Nancy had an amazing sense of humor and could make you laugh at the smallest of things. She was a best friend to everyone that knew and loved her. Nancy will be forever loved and honored by her two loving children, Kelly Powell and her companion, Darren Evans and Michael Powell and his wife, Lacy Powell; her three adored grandchildren, Brooke Oliveaux, Lucas Powell and Liam Powell; and her admired brother, Richard Sloan and his wife, Kathleen Sloan; and other relatives and close friends. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1000 Lantana Road, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 585-5970. A Private Service and Inurnment for the mortal remains of Nancy Catherine Powell will take place at a later date in Palm Beach Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 585-6444.
