Nancy Straub's Obituary
Nancy Stuart Straub, 83, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Boca Raton, Florida, died Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at The Pavilion Health Center in Charlotte. She was born in Tenafly, New Jersey, daughter of the late Marion Ferguson Stuart and Wallace Newmarch Stuart. Nancy graduated from Tenafly High School in the Class of 1950. She was the wife of the late James O. Straub who died in 1989. They were married in the Chapel at West Point on the same day James graduated from the Academy. Following his Army duties and a career with IBM, James and Nancy settled in Boca Raton, Florida where she became an active member of the Lioness Club.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Straub was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Lightower and Jean Doherty. She is survived by her three sons, Barry C. Straub and his wife, Deborah Ann of Colorado Springs, CO., Terry S. Straub of Houston, TX, and Kelly L. Straub and his wife, Sheri of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren, Danielle Patton and her husband, Nicholas Cole, Christopher James Straub, Alicia Kaitlyn Straub, Terry “TJ” James Straub, Heather Nichole Long and her husband, Chris, and Jason, Adam and David Straub; and two great-grandchildren, Colby and Riley Long.
A service to celebrate the life of Nancy Straub will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 18, 2015 in the mausoleum at Palm Beach Memorial Park in Lantana, FL.
