Pentti Jalmari Siren's Obituary
Pentti Jalmari Siren age 84 of Lantana, Florida passed away peacefully on May 9, 2014 at the Matt Lauer Hospice Unit at JFK Hospital in Atlantis, Florida. Pentti was born on September 30, 1929 in Finland to his eagerly awaiting parents, the late Mr. Lamari Siren and the late Mrs. Helmi Siren. Pentti moved to the South Florida area twenty three years ago from his previous residence in Hopewell Junction (Lomala), New York and he settled in the Lantana, Florida area with his wife, Laina Marie Siren. Pentti worked as a Master Mason in New York refurbishing such legendary architecture as the Empire State Building and other famous High Rise Buildings throughout New York. He loved to fish in the Ocean or the nearest Canal, Lake or body of fresh water for his favorite catch of the day. Pentti will be remembered as a hard working man with a kind and gentle spirit; always quick to help out a friend or one in need of some assistance. He loved his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and attended the Grace Lutheran Church in Lake Worth, Florida. He was a member of the American Finnish Club - Kerhotalo (aka Kettahaali) in Lake Worth, Florida and the Finn Hall in Lantana, Florida. Pentti has been married to his surviving wife Laina Marie Siren for over fifty eight years and he is also survived by his son, Gerald "Gerri" Siren in the Bronx, New York and a first cousin, Juhanni Lahti of Helsinki, Finland. Pentti was greeted in heaven by his son, Lee Siren who has been waiting for his arrival since 2009. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on November 20, 2014 at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, FL 334652, (561) 586-1237. Inurnment will follow in Palm Beach Memorial Park, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 585-6444. Cakes and coffee will be served at the ST ANDREWS Lutheran Church at 2:30pm located at 928 South "E" Street, Lake Worth , Florida 33460.
