Mr. Peter Minicucci Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Peter Minicucci, Jr. age 90 of Lauderhill, Florida passed away peacefully on July 5, 2015. Peter was born on May 24, 1925 in Providence, Rhode Island to parents, Mr. Peter Minicucci, Sr. and Mrs. Rose (nee Picillo) Minicucci. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in Providence, RI. After High School Peter was called off to World War II where he was enlisted from August 28, 1943 until November 9, 1945 as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp., where he served his Country valiantly during the war recieving the Purple Heart Accomodation Medal. Peter worked for the Baxter-Travenol Industries for a number of years and he moved to the South Florida area in 1962 from his hometown of Providence, Rhode Island. Peter was a member of BPOE LODGE #1898 in Pompano Beach, FL and a member of the Marine Corp. League. He was a devout Catholic and loved his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Peter loved to tinker around his home fixing anything and everything that needed to be repaired. Peter will be remembered by all that knew and loved him for his kind, gentle and amicable ways. He was preceded in death by his first wife of forty three years, Marie Minicucci who passed in 1989; a daughter, Donna Marie Johnson in 1985 and a grandson, Keith Johnson in 2015. He will be forever loved and honored by his daughter, Diane V. Sorrentino; grandchildren, Kristin Marie Suson, Lynn Willard and Marion Johnson; his eight great grandchildren; brother, Salvatore Minicucci; his second wife of twenty three years, Angelina Minicucci; step-children, Lee Carrabba and husband, Frank Carrabba, Angela Van Horn and husband, Keith Van Horn and Joseph Petracco and wife, Jackie. Family and friends will visit and pay respects on Wedensday, July 8, 2015 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 586-1237. A Celebration of Life Service for Peter Minicucci, Jr. will be held at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home with Father Rick Riccardi the Celebrant.
