Ray Rivlin's Obituary
Ray Rivlin age 90 of Lake Worth, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and the empathetic care from the Hospice Team on June 29, 2014. Ray was born on July 13, 1923 in Schenectady, New York to his eagerly awaiting parents, the late Mr. Abraham Rivlin and the late Mrs. Lena (nee Sadosky) Rivlin. After graduation from High School Ray entered the Airforce for four years where his profession was a Trainer for Pilots. He attended the University of Miami and Majored in Business. He owned his own Private Business which was a Hallmark Gift Store from 1948 until his retirement in 1991, whereby he began to Travel and see the World with his loving and devoted wife, Helen B. Rivlin. Ray and Helen's first trip together was the Northwest Canadian Rocky Tour after his retirement in 1991 and Traveling by Plane or by Ship in the United States, Internationally and abroad became their life's passion. Ray moved from his home in Schenectady, New York to the Lake Worth area twenty years ago. Ray was a member of Temple Beth Tikvah for over twenty years, where he worshipped with his wife and family. Ray served as President for the Essex Community Group in Lake Worth, Florida and on the Board of the Poinciana Community Group in Lake Worth, Florida as well. The most important aspect of Ray's life was his family, he always put his family first. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile, professional attitude and business savvy. Ray had many friends and loved spending time with them. He will be forever loved and honored by his wife of sixty eight years, Helen B. Rivlin; his two loved children, Ron Rivlin and his wife, Charlene and Sharon Rivlin and her partner, Gary Mason; and his two adored grandchildren, Kristi Rivlin-Smith and her husband, Alex Smith and Jason Rivlin and his wife, Cheryl Rivlin. A Jewish Funeral Ceremony will be held 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2014 in Temple Beth Tikvah, 4550 Jog Road, Greenacres, Florida 33467, (561) 967-3600 with Rabbi Leonard Zucker officiating and being assisted by Cantor Herb Grossman.
