Regina A. Menendez's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the departing of our mother, Regina Menendez. She was born in Cuba on March 30, 1926 one of seven children born to Ramon and Lily Drummond. Regina moved to the United States in 1944. She studied and fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse as a natural outlet to her huge heart and compassionate nature. The consummate organizer, she excelled as a surgical nurse and her particular specialty was neurosurgery. At a Valentine's Day dance in February of 1956, mutual friends introduced her to Fernando Menendez (deceased September 6, 2013) and she married the love of her life in December of that year. She will be forever remembered as a devoted and loving wife and mother (Ida, Angela, Zoila and Andy) a cherished aunt (Ena, Marlene and Angel) and amazing nurse, friend and confidante.
We take comfort in the knowledge that she is reunited with her beloved "honey" Fernando and is at peace in the arms of her maker.
