Richard Allen Ernst's Obituary
Richard Allen Ernst age 67 of West Palm Beach, Florida was called into the merciful arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 29, 2014 after a valiant battle with an acute illness. Richard was born on June 21, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky to the late Mr. Conrad Ernst and the late Mrs. Melva (nee Knippa) Ernst. Richard moved to the West Palm Beach area in 1972 from his hometown in Covington, Kentucky. He loved to play golf, bet on the Horses and play Poker. Richard was a very humorous person and could make you laugh with his light hearted comments about any subject matter that might come up. He was a big hearted, kind and loving soul; forever trying to help his fellowman. Richard had great faith in God and was a devout Catholic. His occupation for most of his life was a Finish Carpenter in the residential building trade and his other job for the last twelve years was working at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach as a Handyman working on special projects that were assigned to him in the hotel. Richard served his Country with Honor and Pride in the United States Army; where he received several accommodations including the Marksman (Rifle) Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal and serving one tour of duty in Germany during peacetime. Richard will be forever loved and honored by his three adored children, Shawna Ernst, Reah Ernst and Dean Ernst; his six loved grandchildren, Jordan Cusito, Brooke Cusito, Chelsea Cusito, Aaron Ernst, Grace Ernst and Callie Yerkes; and his loved brothers and sister, Donnie Ernst, Phillip Ernst and his wife, Sheila, Michael Ernst and Connie Baugh and her husband, John. A Celebration of Life Service for Richard A. Ernst will be held 1:00 PM, Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 586-1237.
