Mr. Robert Louis Bartek 's Obituary
Robert Louis Bartek age 80 of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on November 20, 2014 and was taken by the hand and lead to the Gates of Heaven by his beloved wife, Joyce Dexter Bartek, whom has been waiting for his arrival since November 25, 1990. Robert was born in Norwalk, Connecticut on October 24, 1934 to his late father, Mr. Steven Bartek and his late mother, Mrs. Gertrude (nee Frolicks) Bartek. Robert moved from his hometown of Wilton, Connecticut to the South Florida area in 1975. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving his Country proudly in the United States Navy from February of 1953 to March of 1957 as a member of the "Fighting Seabees/Navy Seals" and he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. During his tenure in the US Navy Robert was the Middle Weight Champion for the Navy's Boxing Team with a record of 1 and 0 and the loss was attributable to a fight where the other fighter made a wise crack about his mother and Robert peeled off his gloves and got himself disqualified for unsportsman like conduct. Robert worked for most of his life as a Carpenter and was a member of the Local Unions in Connecticut and West Palm Beach, Florida. He was quite the skilled Carpenter and built on additions and remodeled in his own home as this was one of his favorite past time activities. His greatest love of all was his family for he was a "kind, gentle and most of all continental" family man who loved and nurtured his entire family. He was most notable recognized for his Jimmy Durante style nose and big lovable smile. Robert was a devout Catholic and was baptized and grew up worshipping in the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Wilton, Connecticut. He leaves to forever love and honor his memory two loved children, Joy Paternoster and Andrew Bartek and his wife, Jayne Bartek; his two admired brothers and three adored sisters, Steven Bartek and his wife, Ann Bartek, Wayne Bartek and his wife, Barbara Bartek, Betty Alagretti and her husband, Joe Alagretti, Jeannie Cutuli and Gertrude "Dolly" Longi; his four treasured grandchildren, Danielle, Angela, Andrew Jr. and Sean; and his three precious great grandchildren. Robert was also met on the way to heaven by his beloved brother, Ronald Bartek and his beloved sister, Barbara Bartek. A Celebration of Life Service to Honor the Life of Robert Louis Bartek will be held 1:00PM, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Palm Beach Memorial Park Cemetery, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, Florida 33462, (561) 586-1237 with the United States Navy presenting Military Honors to the Family of Robert Louis Bartek.
