Robert Vincent Neary's Obituary
Robert (Bob) V. Neary, of Jupiter, Florida (formerly of Woodbridge, Connecticut) passed away on Saturday December 22, 2012 at the age of 85. He was born on July 13, 1927 in the Bronx, NY, and lived his life with grace and style as a hard working, caring, supporting, and loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. As the youngest son of Irish immigrants, “Bobbie” grew up in New York City—attending Fordham Prep and Iona College in New Rochelle. He went on to serve in the Navy and began his career with IBM where he worked for 45 years. He married his beloved wife Virginia Warren “Ginny” in 1950, and started a family…raising and caring for their six children before she was lost to cancer in 1995. His daughter Madeleine passed away in 2010 and his second wife, Paula Germain, passed away earlier in 2012. He is survived by his remaining five children--Robin, Donna, Chris, Jim, and Linda and their spouses--Jaime Estremera-Fitzgerald, Noelle Lane Neary, Mary Neary, and George Robb; his grandchildren (Jody Schurman and his wife Kristi Rogers, Eddie Sipes, Mike Sipes, Mary Sipes, Megan Neary, Kelly Neary, Sarah Neary, Ryan Neary, and Paul Fitzgerald) and his great grandchildren (Kelsianne, Samantha, and Taylor Sipes) but he leaves behind so many extended family members and good friends that cared about him. Bob Neary’s sense of humor and caring nature carried him through many difficult times throughout his life…and that is something everyone will remember about him. He always knew how to make an exit….so whenever he left a room, he would often like to dance out with a little step… quoting Jackie Gleason with that famous line …”and away we go”…leaving everyone with a smile! I can hear him now… A Memorial Mass honoring Robert V. Neary will take place Saturday morning December 29th, 2012 at 9:30am at St. Patrick Church—located at 13591 Prosperity Farms Road in Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. There will also be a service in Connecticut at a later time—to be announced.
