Being new to Ron & Mickey's neighborhood we only knew Ron for a few years. We thoroughly enjoyed their company. It was always inspiring to listen to Ron talk about the Everglades. His work work with the Fair was also very interesting to learn about. Daryl and Ron loved to watch football together. He and Daryl liked to talk about the Lord together, too. Ron was a great guy. I’ve known Ron for over 50 years and consider him my best friend. We worked on Everglades restoration and Hurricane Andrew recovery. Also he promoted agriculture through the South Florida Fair. He was the most honest and reliable person I know, a great friend. The world is a better place because of people like Ron Smola.
