Ruth Waldo Mytton's Obituary
Ruth Waldo Mytton, age 94, passed away peacefully in Hospice at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center on June 16, 2012. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 13, 1917, but was a New Yorker from Mid-Manhattan. She also spent many years living between Bombay, India and London and later, five years in Paris. She is a graduate of Capital University in Columbus and has been in the advertising business with CBS Record Company and in real estate with Sotheby’s in New York. Ruthie moved to Palm Beach County in the 1980’s and spent happy years living at Devonshire at PGA National. There she led a very social life and was a member of the Croquet Club. She loved to dance and entertained many admirers in her time living at Devonshire. Always the life of the party... she would say “Been there, done that, what’s next”. Afterglow: I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done. Ruthie is predeceased by her loving aunt and uncle, Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Laughlin, her beautiful sister Dorothy Gordon and brother-in-law Pat Gordon. She is survived by her two nieces Pam (Lee) Gilbert and Patti (Gary) Edwards, great nieces Katie Gilbert and Laurie Gilbert, great nephews Josh Edwards and Andy Gilbert and her great-great nephew Tyler Schmaling.“Let’s say goodbye with a smile dear, just for a while dear, we must part. Don’t let this parting upset you, I’ll not forget you sweetheart. We’ll meet again. Don’t know where, don’t know when, but I know we’ll meet again some sunny day”.
